The U.S. Army in the 21st Century

These expenditures will only increase, and many analysts claim that the cost of ignoring problems within the health care system would only have meant more spending down the line. Yet, the United States ranks 37th out of 191 countries in the WHO’s ranking of health care systems. It’s difficult to imagine any consumer spending that much more money on a product only to be handed something that ranks 37th in quality. However, India is right on its tail with almost 1.4 billion, and growing much faster. If we step back and take a look at the big picture, however, it becomes apparent that the health care system isn’t working as well as it should, and it’s costing all of us. Perhaps for that reason, many of the reforms in the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act are aimed at private insurance companies.
Personal identity are the things that make you one of one, such as personal values and individual goals. To some extent, a lack of individual responsibility for one’s health could be seen as a culprit in our exorbitant health care costs. If you’re one of the 47 million people who lack health insurance, then you may also understand, particularly if you’ve experienced an illness or injury you couldn’t afford to get checked out. The lack of water brought big consequences to the Mayans who ultimately were thought to have perished due to this. Can we all see that to protest is American and that some of our finest have come from that tradition? The browser can tell you if a time in your local time zone is in DST or not (or will be), but whether or not you’re DST when setting a time to some other time zone is anybody’s guess. Do you think your memory will serve you well, or will those progressive Republicans from the early 20th century get the best of you? And if you didn’t get a raise this past year despite a great performance, then you might have the rising costs of your employer’s health insurance plan to thank for that, and you, too, might be ready for some changes.

You may think that it’s everyone’s personal responsibility to secure health coverage. While workers may pay the price in terms of lower raises, that extra money is, of course, someone’s bottom line.
